Number Memory · Number Memory Test
A number flashes on screen for a few seconds — memorise it before the bar runs out. Then type it back. Correct answers add a digit and continue; one wrong answer ends the run. Your score is the longest number you recalled perfectly.

What it measures
Number Memory tests your short-term and working memory for verbal-numeric material — essentially your digit span. It's how you hold a phone number or verification code in mind long enough to use it.
Honest note: Most people naturally chunk digits into groups (like phone numbers). That's a legitimate, useful strategy — not cheating.
What's a good score?
The average adult manages about 7 digits; 10 or more is strong, and the teens are exceptional. The percentile we show is an estimate based on typical distributions, not a clinical norm.
FAQ
Why does it get harder so fast?
Each round adds a digit, and span limits are real — most people top out within a few rounds. That's expected.
Can I write it down?
You could, but then you're testing your pen, not your memory. Keep it honest.
